In a significant relief for Nigerians, the nation will be able to watch the African Cup Of Nations starting on Saturday, 13th of January in Côte d’Ivoire.

Concerns arose across the country when the major sports broadcaster, DStv, through its channel SuperSports, announced that it wouldn’t be showing the African Cup Of Nations. This decision followed its loss in the bid for broadcasting rights to New World TV.

Amidst the uncertainty, Startimes was considered a potential alternative. However, in a major announcement on their X platform, Africa’s largest television network, Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), revealed that they will broadcast all 52 matches of the AFCON in conjunction with Afro Sports.

In an official statement on their platform X, NTA announced, “NTA SIGNS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH AFRO SPORTS FOR TRANSMISSION OF 52 MATCHES OF AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS IN COTE D’IVOIRE.”

This development is a welcome one as the tournament approaches, leaving fans anxious about the opportunity to watch the matches live. The AFCON is scheduled to commence on Saturday, the 13th of January 2024.
