Why Nwabali is doubtful for Super Eagles friendlies

Summoned by NFF in the fourth coming friendlies against Mali, and Ghana in Marrakech later this month, Super Eagles shot-stopper Stanley Nwabali appearance now hangs in balance.

The 27 year old didn’t finish the game in Chippa United’s 2-0 defeat to giants Mamelodi Sundowns at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday evening.

Substituted in the 73rd minute, his omission came apparently after he picked up an injury.

This was his third game in between posts for the chilli boys since return from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations ( AFCON) in Ivory Coast.

At the continental showpiece, Nwabali put a heroic display, earning him a lot of praise from netizens in Nigeria.

Further communication is expected to come out on whether he will available for selection for the two test series in Morocco.

The Super Eagles play rivals Ghana first on 22nd March and AFCON quarter-finalists Mali four days later.
