On Wednesday, January 10th, the Adamawa Queens will meet Heartland Queens in the NWFL, renewing their rivalry from the 2020/2021 NWFL Championship promotion playoffs in FCT, Abuja. That encounter ended in a lackluster 0-0 draw, which dashed Heartland Queens’ promotion hopes but propelled Adamawa Queens and Naija Ratels into the topflight league.

Heartland Queens enter the game with boosted morale after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Dannaz Queens in Owerri, while Adamawa Queens suffered a slim 1-0 loss to Royal Queens in Sapele.

Owerri’s team will need two key players, Mary Lucky and Onyedikachi Ekezie, who are currently on national team duties with the Under 20 team. Coach Obi Ogbala will need to adjust the lineup to secure maximum points on the road.

Heartland Queens currently top Group A with 11 points, tied with Nassarawa Amazon and Confluence Queens but holding a superior goal difference. Match week 7 marks the conclusion of the league’s first stanza.
