The League Bloggers Awards (LBA), powered by 54footbalx, have announced a thrilling race for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Coach of the Month award for March.

This month’s nominees are all top managers who navigated their teams through challenging fixtures with impressive performances. The winner will be revealed on Friday, April 5th, 2024.

Fidelis Ilechukwu (Rangers International)

March was an unforgettable month for Ilechukwu, nicknamed “The Flying Antelopes Manager.” Rangers maintained an unbeaten run, securing crucial away wins against Niger Tornadoes and rivals Heartland. They also earned a valuable draw at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Ilechukwu masterfully utilized Godwin Obaje’s goalscoring prowess, with the team netting a total of seven goals in March and securing the top spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League table.

Kennedy Boboye (Sunshine Stars)

Former champion with Plateau United and Akwa United, Boboye is back in the spotlight. Under his tutelage, Sunshine Stars continued their resurgence, going unbeaten in four matches.

Boboye secured draws against relegation-threatened sides Heartland and Abia Warriors on the road. At home, he led his team to maximum points while maintaining a tight defense, conceding only once while scoring five goals.

Umar Abdullahi (Akwa United)

Before the appointment of Mohammed Babaganaru as head coach, Abdullahi had an impressive run as Akwa United’s interim manager. He orchestrated an upset victory away at Plateau United and a crucial draw at Gombe United.

Abdullahi masterminded a significant 3-1 home win against Enyimba, coached by the Super Eagles’ interim coach Finidi George. He finished the month with a strong record of three wins out of five games, with his team scoring a total of nine goals.

Gbenga Ogunbote (Shooting Stars)

The highly respected “Oracle” finally secured a long-awaited victory against Remo Stars, breaking a winless streak with a comprehensive 2-0 victory. Ogunbote was on a run of three consecutive wins before a recent loss to Niger Tornadoes.

The competition for the LBA Coach of the Month award is fierce. Each nominee has a strong case, making the wait for the winner’s announcement all the more exciting.
