The Ekiti State Government has unveiled plans to refurbish the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti.
This decision comes as a response to the stadium’s current state, which falls short of international standards.
To facilitate the upcoming renovation work, the government has imposed a ban on training sessions and unauthorized activities on the pitch.

The Oluyemi Kayode Stadium serves as the home ground for both Ekiti United and Ekiti Queen football clubs. Notably, Ekiti United faced repercussions from the Nigeria National League due to the stadium’s inadequate conditions, resulting in the team being banned from utilizing the facility.
Consequently, Ekiti United was compelled to host three of their home matches in neighboring states during the recently concluded NNL regular season.

As anticipation mounts for the stadium’s transformation, the exact commencement date for the renovation project remains undisclosed.
