Oshoala’s match winner sets new history in NWSL opener

Featuring for the very first time in National Women’s Soccer ( NWSL), it was a day of history for both Super falcons forward Asisat Oshoala, and new expansion side Bay FC.

The Nigerian forward was the hero in Bay’s 1-0 opening victory against Angel City in their maiden top flight fixture.

Oshoala, scored their first ever goal in NWSL history, which went on to secure all the maximum points for the newbies.

The ultimate moment came in the 17th minute when Tess Boade located Oshoala in box to put the visitors ahead at a sold out match with 22,000 fans in attendance at BMO stadium.

“My career has always been about making history, and I am very happy to be a part of the history at this club,” Oshoala said after her decisive goal.

A proven goal scorer eversince rose to prominence, the six time African player of the year continues to re-write more history under her belt.

The former Barcelona player kicks off her career in USA with a statement, few months after that switch from Spain.
