Edo Queens on the brink of History in CAF Women’s Champions League

Edo Queens, Nigeria’s sole representative in the CAF Women’s Champions League (CAFWCL) WAFU B Qualifier, are just 90 minutes away from clinching a historic berth in the final.

The team, on a remarkable winning streak, secured their place in the final after defeating hosts Inter D’Abidjan 2-1 in the semi-finals. Goals from Emem Essien and Blessing Ilivieda proved decisive, despite Adjoua Niamien’s goal for the hosts.

Edo Queens’ journey to the final is a testament to their exceptional performance throughout the tournament. Their victory over Inter D’Abidjan showcased their skill, determination, and ability to overcome challenges.

In the final, Edo Queens will face Ainonvi of Benin Republic, who defeated AS Enticelles of Burkina Faso in the other semi-final. A win for Edo Queens would make them the first Nigerian team to win the WAFU B regional tournament and set a new record of five consecutive victories in the competition.
