Nathan Tella justifies Eagles call up in Leverkusen win

Twenty four hours after summon of Super Eagles squad for March friendlies, it didn’t take long for Nathan Tella to justify NFF’s invitation.

Tella, had a hand in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-0 win against Wolfsburg to keep the club’s title aspirations intact.

Featured for 76 minutes, the former Southampton player broke the first in the 37th minute before Florian Wirtz late strike in the second stanza.

This marked his 5th goal of the Bundesliga season in 16 appearances.

Didn’t feature at the 2023 Africa Cup Nations ( AFCON) expedition in Ivory Coast, Tella is among the eight players making return to the Eagles roster.

Nigeria, play rivals Ghana, and Mali on 22nd and 26th March respectively in Marrakech, Morocco.
