Rivers United unveils Finidi George as the new head coach

Rivers United has unveiled former Super Eagle coach Finidi George to become the next Rivers United head coach. He signed two years contract with the Pride of Rivers.

The 53 year old former Super Eagle player met with Rivers state Governor yesterday on the potential of journey 2022 NPFL champions as the process of journey revive Rivers United.

Finidi is keen to return to club coaching after he spent almost two years with Enyimba Fc winning the Nigeria Premier Football League in his first season as a coach with Enyimba. He left Enyimba few matches before the conclusion of the 2023/2024 NPFL season.

The former Ajax players will replace Evans Ogenyi who served as interim manager for Stanley Eguma the long serving coach in the history of Rivers United.
