The Technical Adviser of Shooting Stars and former head coach of Enugu Rangers, Gbenga Ogunbote, has revealed the Oluyole warriors’ goal of securing a top position in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Coach Gbenga Ogunbote expressed this objective following his team’s remarkable comeback from a goal down at the Lekan Salami Stadium, where they defeated Doma United with a final score of three goals to one.
This victory propelled the Oluyole warriors to the second spot on the NPFL table, having secured three wins out of five matches played, with one draw and one loss. Their points tally equals that of Ogunbote’s former side, Rangers, but Rangers maintain a superior goal difference.
Fondly known as “the oracle,” Coach Ogunbote addressed the press after the game, stating, “This is a new season with a new team, and our focus is on finishing strong. Unlike the previous abridged season, the approach this time is different, with a strong finish as the ultimate goal.”
Shooting Stars are set to face Remo Stars in the second southwest derby of the season, taking place in Ikenne, Remo, on Wednesday.
