African Games: History as Ghana rules football events

Ghana became the first country to win gold both in the men’s and women’s football at the same edition of the African Games.

From the ladies success, the boys also did the same after winning gold on Friday.

The Black satellites beat Uganda 1-0 Infront of a huge home crowd to seal the gold double.

Jerry Afiriyie was the hero with a last minute winner in stoppage time.

Prior to that, the Black Princesses beat nemesis and holders Nigeria 2-1 to secure gold at Cape Coast Stadium.

The hosts do a clean sweep in both football events at the 13th edition of African Games.
