Nigerian Premier Football League defending champions, Enyimba International FC, are set to host relegation-threatened Heartland FC in a southeastern derby clash at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.

This match on matchday 30 holds significant weight for Enyimba, currently sitting in fourth place with 48 points. A loss to Lobi Stars in their previous outing has put pressure on them to maintain their title challenge. Victory over Heartland would elevate them to 51 points, tying them with Rangers International and Lobi Stars who occupy the top two positions.

Enyimba coach Finidi George will be looking to get his team back on track against their regional rivals. A win would be crucial in keeping their title aspirations alive.

Enyimba will be bolstered by the presence of their leading scorer, Chijioke Mbaoma, who boasts 13 goals this season. His attacking prowess will be a key factor in securing victory.

While Enyimba fight for the top spot, Heartland are battling relegation concerns. They managed a confidence-boosting 3-1 win against Shooting Stars in their last match, also played in Aba.
