BOWFT: “My Girls Will Improve as They Play Consistency Together” – Head Coach, Delta Queens FC

By Isiaq Ibrahim

The Head coach for Delta Queens Football Club, Tosan Blankson has said his team will improve as they play consistency together and disclaim that any opponent who underrated the strength of his current team does that at his or her own peril.

The Head coach made this statement in a post match interview of Betsy Obaseki Women’s Football Tournament (BOWFT) after his team had a 1-0 win over Nigeria Women’s Football League debutant Ekiti Queens FC.

“This team has the target to surpass her last outing in the pre-season tournament which was the third position,” he said.

Coach Blankson who hinted that the team was in the tournament without twelve regulars from the team that emerged NWFL Champions last season however expressed confidence in the strength of his current team as he said he was proud of their first outing together.

“11 players on the field were all new players playing together for the first time, 6 of our first list players are on national assignment for the country while six others parted ways with the club so when you talk about consistency, the consistency is not there now but With this competition the blending will build up and I bet you, this team you saw today will play in the final of this tournament.”

Delta Queens FC, current NWFL Champions overpowered Ekiti Queens Fc by a lone goal in her first outing this season at the BOWFT Preseason Tournament and will next take on Honey Badgers at the Uniben Sports Complex on Thursday, October 25th by 4pm.
