Burnely Star Foster in Bafana squad to face Nigeria

Ahead of the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers, Bafana Bafana trainer Hugo Broos named a 23-member squad for the June gathering.

A star-studded roster sees the return of England-based forward Lyle Foster who plies his trade at Burnely FC.

Missed the 2023 AFCON and March International window, the 23 year old hadn’t represented his country since last year in October.

For the continental showpiece in Ivory Coast, his omission was attributed to mental issues despite reports of fall out with the Belgian tactician.

Another worthy addition is of defender Siyabonga Ngezana whose invitation comes after a stellar campaign in Romania. The former Kazier Chiefs youth product won a league title with FCSB in his debut season abroad.

South Africa wrestle with Super Eagles of Nigeria on 7th June in Uyo before taking on Zimbabwe four days later at home.
